should i be an RA next year and get free housing, or should i get a house with some people and work as a CNA. being an RA with free housing sounds good, but its a big time commitment. as a cna, i will be paid directly, unlike an RA my money will go to housing. I will work as a cna to get patient care hours for PA school (im a freshman in college right now). plus with a house i will be able to come and go and live with people. what sounds like the best option?
I don’t recall being an RA as having been that many hours. I’d go with the RA. You can still work as a CNA if you want, while being an RA. There are issues that can come up in a shared off-campus house, like getting stuck holding the financial bag when people bug out on paying rent or utilities. You can live in a group house some time in the future.

Being an RA will save your family thousands. It is not a huge time commitment. It’s also a valid job that can go on a resume. Most RA’s enjoy their experience. Take the RA job.
