Be Honest, Am I Way in Over My Head with UCLA?

Hi CC,
I'm a junior and I've always wanted to go into UCLA for computer science + engineering and I now don't think I have the scores + ECs to get in. My UC Gpa (Sophomore + Junior year) is gonna be 4.16. My SAT score, though im taking it again, is an 1890 but my ACT composite is a 30. The main problem, however, is my Extra Cirriculars. All i have is: swimming throughout high school and winning most improved sophomore year + being team captain sophomore year ( I wasn't team captain this year because new coaches = new voting); a year of football; playing guitar and singing for all four years of high school, because my school has a huge music program; a few hours volounteering at an Alzeheimers clinic, and no clubs. Am I screwed/ if I am is there anything I can do. If I can't get into UCLA could I get into UC Davis, Irvine, Santa Barbara, San Diego, or Cal Poly SLO for engineering?

I think you have a decent shot at LA. Just try to get that SAT up!

Are you in state? Because then you have extremely better chances. If you work on those test scores and show dedication to the extracurriculars you are involved in through your essays, you have a shot. Don’t forget about the 1 year arts credit!

You have decent chances, but nothing exceptional. If you like the school, I definitely think you should apply. Good luck!

Honestly it looks like you do better on the ACT, maybe try to bring that up instead of retaking the SAT. I think you are in the mix, but UCLA is a reach for anyone, so also apply at other schools.
