Be honest, do I have a fluffy schedule?

By fluffy, I mean unchallenging and simple. I'm a freshman by the way.

Honors Geometry, Spanish 1, English 1, Biology, Ancient Cultures, PE/Health, Advanced Band.

If you can go for Honors English. In 9th grade it's absolutely nothing!

Go for Honors English 1 and Honors Biology if you can.

Ya. Seriously, freshman year is nothing. Just take honor classes so that you can actually take higher level classes later in your high school career.

It's fine, you have the 5 core subjects and a good elective and everybody has to start off somewhere. It is a balanced schedule and it will be mildly challenging for your first year of high school.

Agreed. Go with honors if you can. I'm regretting not taking a tougher schedule freshman year.

Thanks for the replies guys, but my high school requires that I have at least an A- for English and Biology for all of 8th grade to even get to take the test for Honors English and Biology. I got a B average one time in both subjects so that's an automatic DQ.

Wow. What a corrupt system?? It's like making the rich richer and not letting ppl w/ potential succeed. I would get parents involved personally.

I'm curious swim, where did you get your psychic abilities? I go to a Catholic high school and that's what they're about. They ask for lots of monetary donations and volunteer hours from the parents.

^ Ew, Catholic school.

Anyways, I would try to step it up if you can. I mean, those classes look okay, but are by no means great. Good Luck.

I don't know if this applies at your school, but if you made it to Honors Geometry, then you are probably good at Math, try to see if you can take Algebra 2/Trig or the equilvalent at your school cause geometry and Algebra 2 barely have much in common with each other. But only if you really want to step it up.

^Most high schools require that students take Geometry of some sort. What the OP should do to step it up is take Algebra 2 over the summer to get into Precalc during his sophomore year.

lol psychic ability. I wish. That would be cool. I just learned from CC and learned how to "work" the system at my school. Now, the guidance department just listens to me lol. And my guidance counselor loves me. So I basically never stop. If you put up a fight, they'll just say ok because they don't want to deal with it and they're scared of parents (especially dads).

It sounds like the schedule I had as a freshman. They didn't let us take any APs, and the courses were pretty easy.

yeah, since ur only a freshman I wouldn't worry about it too much. Colleges don't look that closely at freshman year anyways.
