Be honest (sorry, another chances post)

I don't know if my stats are typical of a lot of relatively bright kids, but they bother me, I'm trying to better them- but I want to know if I have any shot here, because I rather like GWU and I hope to take poli sci if admitted.

I'm your average white girl from the surburbs of MA
currently a junior

GPA: 4.29 weighted
RANK: 4/~270
SATS: This is what frightens me. My practice tests have not been abysmal (I'm taking the 'real one' in May), but I don't know if they will destroy my chances completely, not to mention, I despise math so my scores are very, very skewed.
CR: 680-720 (based on PSAT/practice SAT's)/M: 550-580(that's the ouch part)W: 670-710
They're not amazing I realize, but are they okay enough to give me a chance?
I've only taken one SAT II (bio) : 610, also not so hot
I love English/History, and most scores reflect that fairly obviously

EC's are decent:
coordinated diversity week for junior high
NHS
Tri-M Honor Society
Soph. Class President
Junior Executive Board Officer Advisor (pity job for losing last year, -sigh-)
French Tutor
Assistant Teacher at after-school program 4 days a week
Orchestra/Chamber Orchestra [viola since 4th grade]
selected for girl state by high school- mock municipal government thing, only 16 kids picked total, good honor I guess :\
massSTAR leadership award- seminar last year
junior history student of year nominee at my school (lol, so lame)

I guess there's some sense of interest in politics/leadership and music, but I think they're just average

I would have really good rec's, I think, at least from teachers I have good relationships with.

Be honest. Thanks.

your SAT score for verbal and writing aren't bad. it's only your math score that's just a little low, but i think if you prepare really hard these next two months, you could definitely bring up that score. as for the rest of your credentials such as your GPA and your extracurricular activities, they're good so i wouldn't worry about them.

good luck! make sure to take more APs and more SAT IIs. consider taking the ACT.
