Can anyone share info on Bear Bucks and which meal plan to purchase? Thank you
Hi. Take a look at http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/washington-university-st-louis/1717251-washu-parents-p1.html.
@newjersey17 Thank you so much!!! I knew I saw the info somewhere
Briefly, you always want to get the smallest meal plan you are allowed. Meal points are use it or lose it each year. Bear Bucks carry over year to year and are refunded when graduate. It costs the same $1 for $1 when buy Bear Buck versus larger meal plan. The only difference is that if you get the smallest meal plan (and you cannot get Bronze the first year) you will probably have to add Bear Bucks later, but you can control how much you buy and it will not cost you more overall and no amount will be lost.
Cheapest move: cheapest meal plan, bear bucks as back-up, and buy a few hundred (or more) meal points for ~$0.30 : 1 from a student with a lot of extra when you start to run out.
