beefing up my application for grad school (econ)

Hey guys,
I'm looking to beef up my application to econ. grad school. I'm currently a sophomore at a top 15 school and have taken or will have taken the following by the end of this year:

intro micro, intro macro, intermediate micro, intermediate macro, calc 1, calc 2, multivariable calc, linear algebra

It seems like getting published (or getting your name on a paper at all) looks really good. I'm trying to think of things I could do in the upcoming summers (before junior and senior years) that would be along these lines. Any suggestions?

So far I have the following ideas:

FRB Boston (volunteer, dunno if they allow this, i'm asking)
Research Experience for Undergraduates (math research, funded by NSF)

I spoke with the econ. dept here and they usually don't need RA's over the summer (which I thought was surprising).

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Claymangs
