Is anyone else like me and checking the status page every day to see if the decision is there even though it has been announced to be released on Dec. 15? (or rumored Dec. 9-10 online)

I check several times a day because I'm obsessive compulsive, but I really do think they'll post it next Friday on the 10th.

That'd be wonderful.

Yes, I'm also OCD in checking every day. :p

Do they post it even if you're rejected? I just wasn't sure whether you have to wait to hear it in the mail if the news isn't so good.

gambadent, I'm sure they do...lol, it would be pretty obvious if it said that everyone was getting a decision on (by?) the 15th and then you just didn't get one.

Last year they said it would be posted on Dec 15, & actually posted on Dec 11. I really don't expect that to happen this year because it took them so long to get all the papers from the central processing center to the correct college. They scanned every piece of paper they received, which they never did before, & obviously had no idea how much longer it would take. I think they had much less time to read the apps. (But I still check online every day, & would love an answer earlier than the 15th)

December 10th...not 11th hopefulsenior

on wednesday night, i sat next to many admissions officer (helping with the online chat) and they have said over and over again to the students and us (we sometimes hear different things) that it will not be released any sooner than the 15th. maybe a couple of hours, but that's it. unless that's changed in the last 36 hours, their answer still stands.

They probably say that the decisions are only posted on December 15th since they don't want to be swamped with calls from angry students who didn't get their decisions earlier.

Phew, I'm so glad y'all made this post. I was worried I was the only pyscho out there checking every second!

I bet they release them early to keep their servers from being flooded on the 15th...if they post them a couple days early then, while it will still be crowded, they won't be completely overloaded. And, therefore, they also don't tell ANYONE that they may release decisions early because that would cause a nightly overload on their servers for the entire week leading up to decisions.

If you guys can wait for few months, you guys can certainly wait few more days.

the server was not overly crowded last year, nor did they release them early.

I like your thinking live-

And it isn't about just waiting a few more days, it's getting out of having to do other applications if we get in, drinkingmilkalldaylong!

yea it really is, i have 8 apps to do if i dont get into cornell. plz mr. cornell, love my app! plz!!

is it true that the ivy league schools have an agreement that says no other ivy league school can release ed results before the other? unless there is a one day difference or a technical problem occured?

No, that's not true.

If I remember correctly, Dartmouth & Columbia release theirs on the 8th.

I think there is an agreement with RD decisions, the policy should be stated somewhere in the application or on the website.

I believe you are correct spanks
