I always find the start of a semester to be extremely overwhelming. Is that the same for most people?

yes because you haven’t developed the pace for the semester yet.

I think this is pretty common, especially when you go from doing pretty much nothing school-related over break to getting a laundry list of things you need to do this term.

I had a panic attack/anxiety attack/tantrum today exactly because I am overwhelmed. On one hand, I have a lot of ‘time’ because my classes are slowly assigning reading and other things, and we haven’t gotten to really ‘difficult’ ideas in my math classes yet. On the other, the beginning of the semster also brings about (at my mainly residential college) a lot of different ‘rush’ events, and a lot of my extracurricular meeting times aren’t set yet, and the uncertainty is really difficult for me.

It can bring a lot of anxiety, especially leaving the comfort of break / home. It gets a lot better with time, and it should get better with the years…I hope, lol
