Does anyone else like/hate the first week of the semester?

It seems that each semester I have mixed feelings about the beginning of the semester. I like having new classes, but I also hate adjusting to new classes and new professors. It also seems that everything is chaotic during the first week (our course management system goes down, university email goes down, etc.) Everything just seems chaotic.

Am I the only one that feels this way?

Transitions almost always come with mixed emotions, what you are feeling is a completely normal part of life.

I love it because it is is the time where we get very little homework, classes aren’t that difficult, and I generally have a positive view of all my classes. When it starts to get harder is when I am like “what am I doing with my life.”

I don’t like the stress of a new routine, figuring out what time you’re going to eat lunch at, where all your professors’ offices are, and the pressure of trying to set positive habits for the rest of the semester. I do enjoy going over the syllabus though.
