Beginning the SAT Essay?

<p>A lot of times, I've heard to start an essay off with something around of lines of an attention-getter or a thesis statement, but over the course of the summer I took a test prep course (testmasters) and they suggested to start off with, </p>

<p>The question, "Insert assignment question here?", implies that....</p>

<p>Would you suggest doing this? Also, if you've taken the SAT for real and remember how you started your essay, could you please give me some advice/your essay score? </p>

<p>I'm taking the SAT on the October date. </p>

<p>As in, “The question, ‘is it better to have more options than fewer options,’ implies that…” ?</p>

<p>Ehh, seems shaky. However if you can make it a captivating intro, then go for it.</p>

<p>I don’t really remember how I started my essays…I think I might have referenced the quote or asked a rhetorical question to introduce the topic. Didn’t really write that many practice essays, so I scored 8.</p>
