How much does being Asian help with admissions and scholarships at BC?

scholarships at BC are merit based and go according to academic skills, not by ethnicity, but being Asian certainly helps in the application process. waves affirmative action flag

Sigh, for the last time, BC doesn't have affirmative action for Asian students. I have data going back to 1996 that shows the admission rate for Asian has remained the same while the number of Hispanic and African-American have increased 30%. So Asian does not equal Affirmative Action at BC. Asian only gets AA in schools where their Asian population is BELOW 4-5% (the national percentage of Asians in the United States).

Furthermore, BC's highest percentage of international students comes from Korea and China, so believe me, the school is not dying for more Asian.

hmm.. im not sure about this. out of the 7 people from my hs going to bc, 5 are asian (including indian). that could be because of affirmative action and it being easier for them to get it. or it could just be the fact that the majority of smart kids in our school are asian.. and the kids going to bc arent even "smart" in my school. or it could just make sense cause my school is 30% asian anyway.

not really sure at all.. just more evidence that admissions is a lucky toss-up
