<p>How much does being first-generation come into play?</p>

<p>Im taking APs, ECs are average maybe slightly above, sports is so-so. Also what if you are a refugee from another country, and you have become a full-fledged citizen of the United States of America?</p>

<p>How do these factors come into play when applying to colleges in the United States?</p>

<p>Are you the first in your family to attend college period? If your parents attended college in another country, you are not a first generation college student.</p>
