Am I a "first generation" college goer?

<p>I am going to apply to colleges for fall 2010. However, I am the first one in my immediate family applying to colleges in US. My parents have bachelors degrees but not from US. So, am I the first generation college goer because I am the first one applying for the colleges in US?

<p>If your parents have degrees then as far as I know you don’t count as first gen. Don’t worry though, there isn’t really any emphasis put on first generation applicants.</p>
