Being in a regular class....

Don’t make eye contact.
They’ll view it as a challenge for they’re spot in the social pecking order of Average life.
No smiling they’ll think you are making fun of them.

Never ever engage in a conversation with them. This is the equivalent of suicide.

Or remember people are still people. And average or honors makes a small differende

O.O…
If it hadnt been for some of te regular classes i used to have, i never would have the friends i do now.most of My Advanced friends are basically people I’m friends with cause we have similar schedules. But the friends i made in my regular classes are probably the best.people i knoe

^ really?.. lol because most of the people in my reg. class are… Uhm how do I put this in a nice way… LOL

Well today we talked about John Locke & natural rights & what not… I felt stupid because that was the first thing taught in AP euro. other than that my teacher also discussed about how he was dared to eat a mouse, the REST OF THE period… Kill me now.

^Just be happy that it doesn’t matter if you don’t learn anything. My APUSH teacher is just as ■■■■■■■■ and I actually have to worry about the test in May…

Smarty, perhaps you could enlist your consular in solving this predicament. Consulars can be very good at switching around classes. In fact, if not for consulars, no one would be placed into the classes they want!

In summary, talk to your consular. Consulars rock.

^ My consular actually called me today to switch around my schedule. My school doesn’t start for another few days, so I really appreciated my consular’s call.

*counselor? lol!!!

& you guys TRUST ME… I talked to my counselor 4 times. Didn’t work so I talked to the administrator; he said he’ll try… & look at my schedule now -.- So I talked to two AVID teachers… Nothing  because our school is too poor to make any changes. I need to switch out, I hate everything about that class! But I can’t :/

Just go switch out of the class ! Omg. There IS a way. Take it online or something. If there’s a will, there’s a way. And don’t feel like your above them or something. There are things that you know and they don’t know. And there are also things that they know and you don’t know. Sheesh !

You’ve been talking to your counselor?! Why? That’s a mistake! You need to get your butt to the consular ASAP.

Are you a nerd? Live a little XD have some fun :D

I never said I was above them… There are people in that take a bunch of AP classes that decide not take APUSH. I just don’t like being in a regular class lol.

Smh I cant believe this is still going on haha. Seriously I made so many new friends from being in regular classes, and I find that for the most part regular class kids are much friendlier and cooler to be around than honors/AP kids. Just thought I’d give my 2 cents for the second time haha.

My one “normal” class is English, the rest are either AP, Honors, Band, or Health/Gym. And last year most of the class thought that a woman can’t be president because of periods, a lot of these people being girls themselves, mind you. The teacher hated my class. She loved me though. =P
On the other hand, one of my Honors classes last year (Italian 3) was an outbreak of annoying stupidity to the point of a couple of friends and me wanting to give each other mercy killings at times. Christ. Some example quotes from that class:
“So wait, it’s just instruments for 9 minutes?” (in reference to classical pieces during culture… I think it was Vivaldi, specifically)
“Glitter!” (in response to the question: ‘If you could be a color, what would you be?’)
“So are you going to Hartford?” (asking me if I was going to ‘Harvard’ because I had a reputation of being one of the smarter kids in the class)
Then there was the time where we had to say something about England for whatever reason, so I said that they have good music there. Someone inevitably brought up One Direction.
I could rant more, but it pains me just remembering this stuff.

LOL this thread cracks me up. I signed up for Regulars Physics last year and all of my friends made fun of me and told me the people in my class would be “scary”. Honestly, it’s not that bad as long as you keep an open mind. Do not act arrogant or go around with an “I’m only in this class because of a scheduling conflict” attitude-- that just turns people off. Try to make conversation with some nice/seemingly normal people in the class, since you never know if you’ll have to do a group project or something. I actually made a couple of close friends in my physics class that I still talk to. Not everyone in regulars classes are druggies, some of them are just people who school just doesn’t come as naturally to. Most of the work in that class was done in groups, so it would have been a bad strategy to isolate myself.

It always makes me smile when I think about the time I was paired up with this girl for some type of quiz thing on the computer. We got a hundred (yes, I did most of the work, but honestly, who cares) and she started jumping up and down with excitement and saying “I’ve never gotten a 100 before!” and the grade apparently brought her up from failing the class to passing. Lol, made my day.

You guys… Making friends in a regular class is the LEAST thing I worry about. I actually know a lot of them… This might make me sound shallow, but… Being in a regular US history class is insulting to me :/

^Try passing the CAHSEE before considering a regular US History class insulting to your intelligence.

^^^Smarty1201 hasnt passed the CAHSEE or has he just not taken it yet? But really Followthereaper, that proves nothing; 99% of CC can pass a CAHSEE. And seriously Smarty there’s nothing to be insulted by. They didnt put you there because they think you’re stupid; you’re there because of a scheduling conflict.

:O I have passed my CASHEE… But I didn’t get a perfect score, which was a bummer because that test was so easy it was ridiculous. -.- gosh! Don’t have to be so brutally straight forward… How about you try passing your AP tests, considering that ur AP teachers could care less if their students scored a 1…

Ouch! Low blow man.

I’m sorry XD but you asked for it lol.
