Doesn’t make you sound shallow just pompous

If you’re saying you being in a regular class is insulting than that implies that you think you’re better than them which contradicts what you originally said. Bottom line is you need the class to graduate and of you dont feel challenged enough then do something about it like self study the extra material and sign up for the test instead of coming o a forum to post how horrible being In a regulars class is.

You need to learn how To DEAL with it. Do you really think I life you’ll be working with people who are All people who were in AP classes in high school? I mean seriously look at the people who failed out/ dropped out of school and are
super successful. Or the people that smoke weed and were successful.

The exact same thing happened to me. The AP teacher has a regular class that I’m trying to get into, because the other USH teachers at my school suck. He teaches a lot of the same stuff in his regular classes, so it shouldn’t be too bad if I can get into the class.

There’s nothing wrong being in a “regular class” if you ask me. In the 6th grade I was put in Merit classes. Merit classes are “on grade level” or “regular.” I think people overreact about the littlest things. I have a lot of friends that are in “regular” classes and they’re certainly not stupid. Some kids actually enjoy these on grade level classes because they are slow, and match their pace. Where I live, the schools are deciding whether they should drop Merit leveled classes and just put them in Honors. Some students need more attention academically and are not accustomed to fast-paced Honors courses.

Ugh, every time I see your username on HSL I get a little annoyed, because I know it’s you with another whiny post. Look, you’ve demonstrated that you may not be all that suited for honors classes anyway, because true honors students have a lot more maturity than you’re displaying.

I had to take a “regular” Spanish III class sophomore year because I couldn’t get the honors class to fit. Same with my friend. And you know what? It wasn’t terrible. We were the best students in the class and the teacher loves us, so it was a stress-free last period class all year. And we got to talk with friends who weren’t in honors classes. You’re acting like this is a death sentence or something.

You see a huge range of students in both advanced and regular classes. Do not make generalizations about the people you will encounter. There will be slackers in any class, no matter the difficulty, but there will also be hard-working students. Prior to this year, I have taken one regular class each year and have met some admirable students who were always happy to help me. Humility is important - in school and in life. :)

Being in a regular class isn’t that bad. Though omeone apparently did switch the UK and France on a map quiz however XD. I’ll be in regular physics this year and honestly, some of the most colorful and funniest students will be in that class. Half of our honors students have sex, do drugs, and slack off anyways. Here, AP classes are a joke since about one person gets a 3 on Chem, Calc, Physics, and Bio and my honors history teacher simply dumped a test that most of the class failed TWICE rather than putting in the grades. Some of my friends, aren’t AP/honors material, but they do well in school and maintain A’s through their own efforts. Don’t be insulted. Besides, it’s a nice feeling and good karma to help out people in your class if they are struggling.

In a way I completely know how you feel, but I’m in a different situation. I atteneded private school my whole life, but I always took regular classes. Now as a senior I’m still in regular classes and it’s super easy. Even though I wasn’t really advanced for my priavte school, I’m super advanced for my public school. If I knew that then I would have taken harder classes. Sometimes I almost feel dumb or bored, because I’m use to a challenge but it’s a nice break from all the prevous years. I’m not sure if I will be able to change, but everything is going to be an easy A.

I’m in regular classes this year and I’m not challenged at all although I do like some of the people.
I hate how disrespectful certain students are towards teachers though. I hate my regular English class because most of the girls talk ■■■■ about me as I care about working hard and they think I’m a bit weird. They’re also so loud. I can’t wait till AP English junior year.

I only dislike regular classes b/c of the busy work and general absence of learning (the absence of learning is especially noticeable if you are going from AP to regular in the same subject, i.e. APUSH to regular government for me). The people, well, there are slackers and losers in every level of IQ. Find some people in the class that have some common sense and hang out with them.

Anyway - regular classes are life, sometimes the academic material is lame, and so are some of the people, but so are some of the people in honors/AP.
