I know for some schools like Brown they post up how many vals. and how many sals. and also how many of the top 10% of the class get in.
I am neither a val or sal at my school, but I am #4, which is still the 99 percentile top 1%
i know i am still considered in the top 10% because i am not 1st or 2nd, but do you think it will help my chances vs. someone in the top 2% and 3% or will they consider it as everyone else

Of course being #4 in your class would help

what if its not out very many 270?

of course it will help- but not nearly as much as being val or sal.

thanks for the reply after a month :)

no, being smarter than 99% of your graduating class will ruin any chance you have of getting in to ANY school

sometimes i wonder how these posters even got to the top 1% in the first place...

DCoy54 is right. If you aren't a valedictorian or at least a salutatorian stick to community colleges.
