Being suspended or may have to withdraw from high school

I am wondering how does a suspension and withdrawing from high school affect my application to colleges. I was accused of hacking school system at Friday which I did not have either motive or intention of hacking the school system. I was in a computer class and the teacher did not say anything to us at the first 30 mins, so I started to look up something about hacking and opened up a software called “Registry Editor” then I was curious what would happen if I delete Registry. So I typed in “How to delete Registry” on google and at some point manipulated some codes from the website. What I was trying to do is to trying it on my own virtual machine, but then I was accused of trying to hack the school system. I am majoring Computer Science in the college. I am not here to ask you if I did the right thing or not but if I have to withdraw from high school at this kind of situation how much is it affect my app to the colleges that I applied. Do I have to graduate somewhere or can I just take and pass a GED? Any suggestions?

You have a big problem.
I suggest you talk to your GC or Principal asap, and explain EXACTLY what you were doing, and then find out what they are intending to tell the colleges you applied to , because if you are expelled colleges will likely not accept you or revoke any acceptance.
That does not mean you can’t enroll at a Community college or a computer boot camp and learn computer skills on your own.

And i did not hack their system so there is still a possibility that they will let me stay but how much does this suspension affect my app?

they say I have a chance of withdrawing from it

And they already knew, thats why im being suspended for now and they re investigating it.

you may just have to wait and see what they say.
Is there anyone who can speak on your behalf? Someone with great computer coding skills who knows you ?

How long will you be suspended?
Are they notifying colleges about the suspension?

Your hs problem is specific to your school and its policies, so we don’t know. But nearly all colleges need you to graduate from hs. Or the equivalent. Some colleges will accept a GED, some won’t. You need to check. But you have to know the admissions folks will want to see your hs record, will see the withdrawal and may see this discipline issue.

You also said on another thread that you want to apply to H, S, Y, UCB, etc. They aren’t going to like this messing around, nor the low SAT, low grades you mentioned. You really need to go to the web sites and properly assess your chances, learn what matters to them.

Umm I am a international student and I have my agency can speak behalf me to deal with his but nobody knows much about computer. But the school is having a tech guy to run an investigation on it, and the only thing he will find out is that I did not do anything, but put their computer on risk of breaking down which I have no intention to do so. But I am majoring in Computer Science and almost every Computer Science program in the colleges teach about hacking and avoid being hacked. So if they tell the colleges the true story that I did not do anything that can cause any damage to their system but i have to withdraw because they think I am a risk. Do you think the colleges might give me a chance?

No yet I think. I am suspended for few days for now. And they will give me their answers.

I doubt you had any ownership of the registry, so removing any keys or deleting it would have given an error. All high school districts employ an IT specialist who would know this immediately and provide info to the administration. Especially since you were in a virtual environment, you would only be attempting to modify your own virtual machine which gets obliterated when your done anyway. You aren’t telling the whole story. To suspend you without good evidence of what you were trying to do is a lawsuit in the waiting. Schools aren’t usually that dumb. Tell the truth, what were you really trying to do? You state, colleges teach hacking. No they don’t. They may teach security, and secure coding, but they don’t teach hacking. You seem to have an interest in hacking, and you simply got caught trying things out. Give up that career, you don’t seem very good at it since you were caught already. Good hackers are on Linux and using Onion browsers. No one is foolish enough to use Windows.
