REJECTED, MWAHAHAHA

lolz. Seriously, though, it depressed me quite a bit :(:(:(:(

I still haven't received anything yet. Is that a good thing or is my mail just slow to deliver my rejection? Did anyone actually become a semi-finalist yet?

at least we tried, man

I didn't get it either... :(

TTwhite, you too? Man, that's harsh.

Someone said the letter was dated February 19th (I torn mine apart too quickly to notice), so if you haven't gotten it yet, I wouldn't worry at all.

Haha don't worry kids. I know a handful of Belk scholars and, not to be harsh, but some of them are a bit...off...if you know what I mean. Besides...so many people apply! So don't worry! :)

^ LOL. I actually had the same thought when I looked at the Belk pamphlet....a tad on the nerdy/non-social side methinks. Ah well, I can't afford to go to Davidson now, but life goes on :)

My son hasn't gotten a rejection letter nor any notification that he made the cut either. Hurry up and wait.

Good luck to all.

i didn't get semi either.

i spent all day thinking about the dreaded letter. i feel extremely pathetic.

:)

should we read into not getting a letter yet?

My daughter received a telephone call last Thursday notifying her that she was a semi-finalist.

Congrats to your daughter, Tenndad. Good luck to her.

i'm guessing that means those of us who haven't even received a letter are out of luck, and weren't even close to getting it because they forgot to even send a letter saying we didn't make the cut. ugh

haha, i wouldn't go that far. either our mail is slow (i havent gotten one either) or they don't make all the decisions at once. like, i think its better to not have a letter now (which, so far, have only delivered bad news) than to have one

i guess haha. yay for positive thinking!

I have spoken with an admissions officer at Davidson and she said that all letters, whether good or bad, were sent out Thursday February 19th. --I'm still sitting at the mailbox for mine.

Do you know if all semifinalists received a phone-call?

the AO who called me said semi finalists were contacted by phone but who knows. i had my semi finalist interview yesterday...apparently only 22/750 kids were semi finalisted this year, which is a lot less than usual, which is around 60-65. maybe they dont want to pay for a lot of finalists to come to the weekend? i dunno that part seemed weird to me.

My guess is that it has to do with the hit our endowment took. Every university/college in the country is having issues with that at the moment. Harvard's endowment dropped like a billion dollars.

"Harvard's endowment dropped like a billion dollars."...................more like $10+ billion (not counting valuations of private equity investments). Joy. ;0(
