Bell curve

I realize there are some posts about this, but I just wanted to clarify.

At Berkeley, I heard there is a bell curve system. Can someone tell me what type of classes are affected by this, and what are the consequences of this?

Pros and Cons?

all the lower div premed classes, all eecs/chem/E

not so much humanities

oh so I wont be affected too much if I’m econ+stat double major pre-Haas?

Also could you tell me what exactly a bell curve at berkeley means?

oh and haas-forgot about that one, lol. mainly ive heard its there for econ 1, math 1b, ugba 10

basically, you are competing against the rest of the lecture hall and this is how professors will grade you. theres probably a better way to explain this though

[Grading on a curve - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](Norm-referenced test - Wikipedia)

You’re going to meet most of the bell curved classes (ba10, econ, your calculus courses). BA10 is the most extreme one.
