Hello! I just recently found this forum and I am so glad that I did! I was wondering, though, if anyone has went through the audition process at Belmont University and could tell me about it? I would really like to know about the dance portion. Thanks so much!

WMonMTDad's S auditioned there last year. You could PM or email him, or he may still be reading the board regulary and see this question. Good luck.

Yes, S did audition there last year. At the time he'd had nine months of formal dance (jazz & ballet). of the three schools he looked at, this was the only one that required a solo dance audition piece as well as a group screening. However, he felt that overall the dance audition wa snot as rigourous as the other school he auditioned at which also had a dance audition.

My niece was just graduating from Belmont with a degree in commercial vocal performance so we were familiar with the school.

For more details, look back for some of the other posts about Belmont from back in the APril/May/June timeframe

MM1215...did your D mention that S is in the Stripped show next month? He was really pumped about it we're planning to go up and see it. He said the only other freshman in it was actually a transfer that was starting over

I don't remember if she mentioned that or not. She is so busy with Le Villi rehearsals that I don't think she knows what's going on around her! I will be there "stripped" weekend for her junior recital. I hope we get to see the stripped show, but it depends on what the rest of the family wants to do. :(

For other readers of this post: they are called "Stripped" shows because they are basically blackbox...minimal costuming and sets. Very important to note...I'm glad I already knew what she was talking about when my wife sent me a text msg saying S had called and he was in a strip show the weekend before thanksgiving.

Hello!!! I'm just glad she didn't send a msg like that to someone else by mistake!
