Belmont University vs. Olivet Nazarene University

I am deciding between two schools: Belmont and Olivet Nazarene. Olivet is really close to my home, while Nashville is 8 hours away. I don’t mind being away from home, but because Belmont is so expensive, my parents don’t want me to go there. Olivet seems like a great school, but I want to go to the south and live somewhere different. I am so lost as to which school to pick; can anyone from either school give their overall opinions/experiences of the school? Is Belmont worth the money?

Belmont has great programs involving music and the business of the music industry; but if you aren’t planning on working in the music industry on either the performance or business side, then you might be advised to look elsewhere, especially if money is an object.

What are you interested in majoring in? What is your home state? Are you specifically looking for a school that has a religious affiliation (either present or former)? Do you think you would qualify for merit scholarships, or is need-based aid your only possible option? Do you have any preferences on whether you go to school in an urban vs. suburban vs. rural environment? Is the size of the school a consideration?
