Beloit, WI is a very violent city to live in. Statistically speaking, you have a four times greater chance of being murdered in Beloit than you do in the Murder Capital of the World (Chicago, IL). A few years back, a woman was murdered on the West Side and her corpse was found as if it was harvested like a deer. This murder was never solved. The killer could still be living amongst the population. A hooker’s body was dumped off by the highway by a trucker and bar patrons get whacked by psychos driving with them down the Interstate. Upwards to a dozen unsolved murders in Beloit since 1990. Unemployment levels are the second highest in the State of Wisconsin. It isn’t easy to find full or part-time employment in Beloit. Waukesha is a nice city to live in - full of opportunity. Any number of Midwest campus towns/cities would be statistically safer and more economically sound than Beloit. I hope that this revelation helps…

It’s always nice to hear from the angry minority.

I loved my time at Beloit. It’s a wonderful campus, with a booming downtown, a great farmer’s market and three or four major corporations. The biggest lawbreakers in town are probably the college students who drink before they turn 21. There is some crime in the poorer sections of the city, but it’s an amazingly lovely and safe campus (check the Clery Act statistics on Beloit College’s website for ample evidence).
I think someone was rejected by Beloit College!
@TomSrOfBoston agree!!
