So I was admitted to UC Irvine for biology (alternate major), but not with CHP (I believe its because my primary major was Biomedical Engineering). I know you can transfer into CHP once you have taken some classes at UC Irvine, but what I’m wondering is what are the benefits of it? I plan on going to med school after my undergraduate studies, so will CHP really help?
CHP won’t really help unless your majoring in some type of humanities. However, there are the benefits of choosing classes earlier than regular students. But to be honest, if you’re planning on majoring something difficult and workload intensive, you might want to drop the honor courses so you can have a higher GPA (very important for pre-med).
@VRSanctum But of a late response, but have you experienced the CHP workload, and if so, do you know what it entails? Is there anything I’m missing out on by not being admitted to CHP upon entry (rather than transferring into CHP)?
