Will NYU care that I started a nonprofit organization/youth advocacy group that raises money for various causes and pressing global issues, while informing the youth of today about the problems the world faces? Will this help me at all in the admissions process? My essay is about this and its effects on gay rights. By creating this and running it for about 3 years now, do you think it will help me at all/set me apart from other applicants?

Obviously it won’t hurt you…

It’s a pretty cool/unique EC so it’ll help you. Don’t worry so much over it!

I’d say it’s a big positive. Not sure if you’re overblowing it, but it sounds like you made an impact.

I’m not overblowing it, nut will NYU think that??

Also, do you think this is a good topic for my common app essay, or would it be better for the short answers on the NYU supplement.

*but. Not nut

It’s a good essay topic. The supplements are more about NYU so you could squeeze that in there and talk about how it’ll benefit NYU specifically (among other stuff.)
