Benefits of taking math 10 or 20 as econ major?

As a community college transfer, I'm taking math 10 equivalent series at my community college. I wanted to know how prepared I would be for the B.A Econ program by taking the 10 series over the 20 series. I really don't want to get a PHD in Econ and don't necessarily "love" math, but I can understand and work with it. I know UCSD is a very competative school and was wondering if it would be better in hind sight to take the 20 series equavilent at my JC instead? Although I'm kinda scared it would destroy my GPA since the requirement for TAG is 3.5 this year... Any help or input regarding this situation would really help.

THANKS!
