Thanks!

Can you all please provide your stats so folks that look next year can see what gets them in and what kind of scholarship they can expect? WGPA, test scores/optional, dual credit/AP and ECs.

Yup! My unweighted gpa was a 3.97 I donā€™t know what it is weighted. I did not send my sat score because I couldnā€™t take it due to COVID. I took 7 AP classes in high school including one freshman year. I also always took the highest level class offered for everything. I was captain of my cross country and track and field team. I was also part of many clubs and volunteered.

D got accepted with provost scholarship/20K + Women Leadership Program 10K

Honors Program vs Women Leadership program

All any input on Northeastern vs Bentley. D got accepted in both with Bentley providing double the money . She is looking to Business major

The best of Bentley is the business school (while the other majors/departments are relatively weak). And the best of Northeastern is the co-op. Iā€™d say ā€œmoney talksā€.

Congratulations! Has your S21 got Minesā€™ yet?

I have A third-year student at Northeastern bio chemistry. My son just got excepted to Bentley last night and is also excepted at Northeastern as well as Isenberg UMASS.

Northeastern in our experience is an amazing university. Wonderful campus which does have a real beautiful campus for a city school. Their coops are outstanding and in my opinion is where NEU shines. We are big believers in experiential learning.

I did look at the rankings for business/finance related majors, not that rankings are everything, but depending on your major I think it does make a difference. Purely from an academic standpoint. I think Bentley shines in finance & accounting. I understand their internships are very good as are their rankings for career services; so perhaps they could complete w NEU coops.

A major difference of course is location. Bentley is in Waltham vs NEU Boston. My D 3rd year loves the city. So much to offer.

Cost - Bentley is less and son got $10k scholarship. NEU you donā€™t pay tuition during COOP.

I think for Son he may choose NEU because while he has a strong Business/Finsnce interest he is undecided. So the EXPLORE for undecided is great and he has access to wide array of other possible majors.

So depending on where you sit and your position on Cost Location Major coops vs internships may help you w decision.

What do you think, Iā€™d love to hear.

My D applied for both, and it will be a tough choice at the same out-of-pocket cost.

In our case D got a Scholarship from both colleges however the difference is huge. NEU gave her 14K vs Bentley a total of 35K ā€¦ So its a tough choice thinking she wants to do majors in business

I told myself not to be fooled by how much offered. Instead, we focus on how much we need to pay out of pocket.

I think applying for colleges is seeking for a best intersection of both, (1) out of pocket cost the less the better; (2) rank of college/major the higher the better.

My Dā€™s goal is to become a CPA, so the least cost is the best choice.

In our case Out of Pocket is less for Bentley as its a difference of 20K per year and Bentley is cheaper and have higher rank in Business
