I have been accepted to the honors program at UConn and received a full tuition scholarship from Traveler’s Insurance that pretty much guarantees me a job with them after college.
However, i have always wanted to live and work in Boston, so Bentley is in a much better location. And it is ranked much higher than UConn business. I also like the Bentley campus a lot better, and I recieved a third-tuition merit scholarship from them ($14000 per year).
I plan to major in either finance or marketing, but I think I am leaning more towards marketing.
What do you guys think is a smarter choice? UConn would be a little bit cheaper, but Bentley is still affordable. Also, I think working for an insurance company would be very boring, so maybe going to Bentley would give me more options. I’m really stressing out about this and I need your help. Would it be dumb to turn down the honors program and full tuition scholarship to UConn just to go to Bentley?
I looked at Bentley with my S and liked the school (my S didn’t end up there because he decided he didn’t want a school where everyone was studying business) but unless your family can very easily/very comfortably afford it, I’d opt for UConn. I know two people who went through the honors program at UConn and were very happy. And even if your first job is at an insurance company, that doesn’t mean you have to stay at an insurance company forever – it can be hard to get that first substantial job and this sounds like a good way to do it.
Son is in honors program at Bentley great school for Accounting/finance niece was hired before she graduated highly ranked business school son absolutely loves bentley
