Does anyone know whether Berkeley still adheres to the "50 Percent Rule," whereby half of each entering class is selected on the basis of academic credentials (SAT, GPA) alone?
I know they've changed their policy a lot over the years and I'm wondering which one is in effect for this admissions cycle.

With admissions, especially in a Public university in a politically charged environment, you should be skeptical of pronouncements as to Admissions policy. Heed not what they say, but what they do.

Fortunately, UC makes it relatively easy to see what they do with handy UC Stat Finder. You plug in numbers, and they provide you with the likelihood of admission at the various campuses. That's what you really want to know, isn't it?

yea. thanks!
