Berkeley Engineering Admits

First off, congratulations to all of you. Would you guys please post your stats(major, gpa, how many prereqs done). Just curious to see the average applicant who was admitted. Thanks

Hey

4.00 with a whole boatload of required courses completed. I took several recommended courses as well. I know and love Assist.org haha.
Internship in the exact field I want to work in
Internship at a research university working in a major-related field
Years of community service helping youths with a problem I went through as a teenager
A career goal that I am clearly passionate about and that will help the environment and ease geopolitical conflicts (saving fossil-fuel energy). I think Berkeley likes this sort of thing based on their liberal (yay liberals!) bias.

Edit: Look at us with our math related usernames. LOL.

DivZero,
Thanks for your post. Wow those are some impressive/intimidating stats. I was accepted to UCSD this year but for financial reasons I’m staying one more year at community college and next year I’m going to apply to Berkeley just to see. I have a 3.92 and will have all the prereqs done, but I’ve heard so many people say anything less than a 4.0 and don’t bother but I feel like that can’t be true. Congratulations though on getting in

Got into ME

3.7 GPA
all prereqs complete except for the engineering courses
IGETC completed as well

Congratulations nickujaja thanks for your reply that is roughly the position I’ll be in too. You’re giving me some hope haha only time will tell. Enjoy Berkeley

Thanks Integrant,

I also applied last year with a 3.85 gpa but missing many of the prereqs. I got into UCSD for my secondary major but denied from every other school, including berkeley. Decided to stay at CC for another year and finish up the prereqs.

You’ve got a good shot at getting in, just keep up your GPA and finish all of the required courses.

@Integrant
Thanks for the congrats. A friend at my CCC got in with less than a 4.00. I think he has around a 3.7-3.8. Berkeley is huge on major preparation courses, so make sure you take those if offered at your school.
