So, I’ve received admission to both universities (yay!) Both are solid in the MSW department, but I wonder if the Cal degree would open more doors down the line in regards to employment (alumni network, opportunities in area etc.), and provide a world-class experience that I won’t get at State. The issue is money of course as the annual tuition is double at Cal.
I think that SDSU is a great school, but I want to be sure I’m not being shortsighted. My ultimate goal is to lecture, open a private practice, but I want to do agency work at first in order to gain clinical experience before launching out on my own (I’ll have to anyway).
I know that many people will say that a social worker won’t make more than $xx, and it doesn’t matter where you go, but I think that it does. I just don’t know where lol.
