I got a regents scholarship to ucsb, which allows me to stay in these specialized dorms all four years, have $24000 scholarship total ($6000/year), priority class registration, and admission into the regents scholar org. It is much further away from home than Berkeley (2 hours). I got into cal in the spring term but I could probably end up in the fall program there anyways. I am conflicted because cal is by far the better school. Also, I am undecided. A couple of my ideas are business and optometry, along with English. Ucsb does not have business or optometry. I still do not know what I want to do. Any advice? The scholarship is really enticing but the idea of turning down cal...however I fear that I won't be able to get into my classes there, thus staying there for 5 or 6 years just for a bachelors degree...and costing my family. But i could see my family Moreso there (Esp my grandparents)...any advice?
