Berkeley or UMichigan?

Hi Everyone,

I’m currently a sophomore at the University of Michigan with a double major in Psychology and Organizational Studies (an interdisciplinary major that focuses on econ, business, and policy) with a minor in sustainability. I’m really, really interested in environmental econ/policy and environmental business. I applied to Berkeley’s College of Natural Resources to the Environmental Economics and Policy major and I got in, which is really exciting, but I’m kind of stuck.

I do like Michigan, but the degree at Berkeley is definitely more tailored to my academic interests. I’ve struggled to find something that I thought really matched what I wanted to study. Right now, at Michigan, I’m probably headed for a general consulting job after graduation, which would be fine. But I really want to work for an organization like the Environmental Defense Fund. The intersection of sustainable business and the environment really interests me. Berkeley was also my dream out of high school, but I got rejected then, so it’s great to get in now. At Michigan, though, I have commitments (I’m an athlete, but I would be okay leaving my sport) and I’ve spent two years growing close to people.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. I would really appreciate any knowledge about job prospects for the EEP major, what the campus/school is like in general, and how the EEP program is regarded in general. Thanks!
