Berkeley Provides Most Leadership + Academic Potential For Asian Americans

Moresushi tried to take advantage of Yahoo! when Jerry Yang was just starting up but now Jerry Yang has far surpassed Moresushi and is now far more powerful. He FOUNDED Yahoo! bicth. He started up one of the most successful corporations in world history. All Moresushi did was pool his money together and invest in stocks. That's not a real company. He gathered his money together to make a venture capitalist bank. So what? His corporation is just a leech that preys off of other corporations. People from Stanford make real businesses like Yahoo! and Google while people from Berkeley are content with bumming off the rides of others. We create, while you use. We make the gigantic corporations while you merely invest in them. Is it therefore surprising that we become far more powerful than any Berkeley grad can become?

Plus we control the Supreme Court. Boo ya!

This time undoubtedly I give my vote to Jerry Yang !! :)

Umm. OK, Masayoshi Son at one point was worth 76 Billion dollars. He was at one time the richest man on the face of the earth. What was the most Jerry Yang was worth? 5 Billion at the most? That means Masayoshi Son could have had 15 Jerry Yang concubines. But once again, Jerry Yang was not a good concubine, so he was demoted to street prostitute.

Yes, an Asian who went to Berkeley for undergraduate was the richest man on the face of the earth. You guys are obviously retarded. Bow down, perhaps we will go easy on you Stanfurd Asians if you shudder with fear and burn at least 2 pounds of incense and bow to the mighty shrine of CALIFORNIA.

Also, this thread was about visible and famous Asian Americans and what undergraduate they went to. Like John Cho, Will Yun Lee, Norman Mineta, etc... BTW, by far the most interesting Asian American out of anyone we talked about is Gene Kan. He is one crazy ass mofo, look up his history. But remember why I started this thread. If you want to participate, please name some famous Asian American actors, politicians, community leaders from Stanfurd. Oh yea, there aren't any. LOL! I guess if you are Asian American, you are much more likely to be a visible leader if you went to Berkeley. Sigh, the pressures of high expectations.

I didn't really want to talk about business leaders, but there you go, a Berkeley Asian was at one point the richest man in the world, yup a Berkeley grad was at one time richer than Bill Gates. Umm but out of nowhere you bring up the Supreme Court??? uh... how desperate can you guys get? Accept your defeat graciously, like you guys did the last 3 Big Games.

OH yea, and dont forget, you can buy incense on Telegraph for your shrine to California. Help out the local merchants please. I suggest you start your given assignment immediately.

"a Berkeley Asian was at one point the richest man in the world, yup a Berkeley grad was at one time richer than Bill Gates"

I highly doubt this is true. Show me proof.

Besides, if what you say is true, which I highly doubt, then please explain to me how a man who once was the richest man in the world doesn't even make the top 100 list. Do Berkeley grads not know how to handle their money? Why do Bill Gates, Berkshire Hathaway, and Jerry Yang have more money than him? It's almost like he's reenacting Berkeley's whole history. It's a university that used to be good but has now slumped into the annals of mediocrity.

^ Why should I have to show proof to you, the world wide web is at your disposal, but then again, seeing what Stanfurd investment bankers were like, I can see why you need so much help. LOL!

You have not yet bowed to the Shrine of California. Thereby, you are a infidel.

Dude are you on crack? I can't decipher what you are saying half the time. I guess it's not your fault Berkeley can't teach English for shtit.

Bow to the Shrine of California. Did you not understand me?

Take out your mat, face northward (slightly northeast) towards Berkeley, and bow three times. DO it NOW! Burn incense for extra points.

Instead of incense, can I use my Berkeley acceptance letter? rummages through garbage can

aha. Good one.

Score 10 : 1 in favor of Berkeley.

Its about time you scored at least one point. Too bad you had to copy Sakky to even get that point.

Score 11: 1 in favor of Berkeley (Extra point awarded to Sakky for inspiring rooster's one lone point)

Ah, I just go back from the CoHo in Tressidder Union. I was studying for my physics final and chatting with Osheroff, the Nobel Prize winner in physics, over a cup of coffee while he discussed what the best ways to memorize physics formulas are. This is just one week after I had a chance to personally talk to Howard Dean as he left Memorial Auditorium.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, I think you guys should stick to PMs. Haha, j/k.

By February 2000 the markets valued Softbank at $140 billion, making it the world's biggest internet company. That amount was equal to 13% of Japan's gross domestic product. As owner of 56% of Softbank's shares, Son was worth nearly $80 billion, poorer only than Bill Gates.
Yup a Berkeley Asian was at one time the second richest man in the world.

Stanfurd Asians, at their highest was what? Did they even break the top 50?

Here's an interesting quote
The status of controlling shareholder was ceded to another prescient Asian named Masayoshi Son whose Softbank snap up over a third of Yahoo!'s shares. But as co-Chief Yahoo! Yang remains the cheerleader
Wow! Jerry Yang was a good cheerleader! LOLZ! See why at best he is a third rate concubine to Masayoshi?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but Berkeley Asians have just historically been superior to Stanfurd Asians. Its a fact that you must learn to accept. Here's a teaspoon of sugar to make the medicine go down, medicine go down. medicine go down...=)

If Moresushi used to be the richest man, why isn't he still the second richest person now? Cause Berkeley people always fall down, just like the university itself.

Ah. You're blabbering nonsense as usual.

Did you know that Norman Mineta is the only Asian American to have an airport named after himself?

Yes, Mr. Mineta was a Berkeley graduate.

An entire airport named after him. Wowwwww.

Such high expectations for us Berkeley Asians.

You do realize that one graduating class of Berkeley Asians is equivalent to 15 times the number of Asian Americans graduating from Stanford? Let's see now, it will take us 15 years just to graduate as many Asian Americans that Berkeley does in one year.

Yet we STILL have more famous and successful Asian-Americans than Berkeley. Jerry Yang and his Yahoo corporation totally beat all your no-name Berkeley grads.

Ask any MBA grad if they would rather work for Softbank or Yahoo.

95% will choose Softbank. Anyways, this is getting boring. You lost so many arguments, you lost so many " Softbank isn't even listed on NASDAQ, so how can it be worth more than a billion dollars? blah blah" arguments that this is stupid.

ANyways, Just wanted to say that you are very lucky to be a Stanfurd Asian. To have lower expectations than us Berkeley Asians. You are so lucky. Its not easy having these kind of expectations and shadows cast over you, ya know.

Oh yea, I guess you wouldn't know. LOL!

Damn the mean score on my discrete math final was an 94%, which means my 92 percent is a B. If I went to Berkeley I'd be getting an A+ in discrete math since I wouldn't be competing against Putnam and USAMO qualifiers.

So now Stanford Asians have "lower expectations" than Berkeley ones? LMAO! I'd rather compete against hardworking Asians than genius Asians.

I do have to say that there is no comparison between Stanford and Berkeley. I don't even understand why there is a rivalry in the first place. I always thought Stanford's rival was Harvard cause they are kings of West and East respectively.

But if there was an East vs West Coast war the East would completely dominate. (Harvard and MIT) vs (Stanford and Caltech) is about an even match, but it gets ugly when you add Princeton, Yale, and the rest of the ivies into the fray. Stanford and Caltech have nobody to back them up except for 2nd tier state schools.

P.S. By "2nd tier" I mean they aren't as good as the best of the best universities. They are excellent places, just not the best of all places like Harvard or something. I think most people would find my assessment fair.

^ I know this is hard for stupid people to understand, but this thread is about how Berkeley has produced the most visible leaders in the Asian American community out of any other school.

Thanks, everyone is allowed to leave now. Please bow to the Shrine of California, and the new London Times rankings.
