This is going to be detailed but I want to know if anyone's been through this or knows of anyone. I'd really appreciate it!

So basically that's my admissions contract for Cal. Just found out I got in today. My heart sunk to see COGN 21 on the list of courses I must complete. I got to UCSD currently and COGN 21 classes fill up SO QUICKLY. I wasn't able to enroll in the class and instead took a physics course that fulfills one of my GEs. And it was a class for my major at UCSD...not the major I'd be entering Cal with. In the comment section of my app and the app update form, I said that this might end up being the case. I also sent a letter to formally notify Cal of the change (though they may not have received it by the time decisions were made). And today, I e-mailed my admissions officer explaining to her my situation.

Do you think I will get my admission offer revoked?

I got into ucla also and explained to them the situation--and my status wasn't effected. Do you think Berkeley will feel the same? The FAQ on the website scared me. It seems really strict on this. AHHHHH please share any experiences you may have! I want to prepare myself mentally.

What ended up happening?

dont think it should be a problem

Hey I was in the same boat!..I know my reply is several years too late. But while I was in that situation, I came across this thread and thought to myself, “dang it. I wish @sdtolaorb would update us on how it turns out so I can more or less have some expectation of how mine will turn out.” Generally, coursework change should not affect admission status. However, I was missing a PRE-REQ!
And it turns out that my admission adviser simply sent me an email and told me that I’m cleared! I will have to complete the pre-req once I’m enrolled in Berkeley. But I would have no problem to submit my SIR!!! So relieved!
Do note that I am an English major, not an Engineering major. And I only have 4 pre-req’s needed to complete for transfer.

@onefish hey, I’m an English major transfer who was just admitted into Berkeley as well. I’m in a similar situation, maybe you could help me?

I have finished all my pre-req’s…however I had a final group presentation for a film class this semester and my partners back out on me & I performed very poorly (the instructor is insistent on no extra credit despite the situation). As a result I will be getting a C in that class. Since Film is not my major (I honestly only took the class to fulfill the unit requirement for transfer) I didn’t think it would be a big deal. HOWEVER, it lowers my GPA to 2.75 (I have solid B’s in my other classes) therefore my GPA doesn’t meet the 3.0 requirement Berkeley has for transfers.

My major concern is that my admission will be revoked now! I’ve emailed/talked/begged all my professors about the possibility of raising my grades…however it looks like I would have to get 100% on every final to raise my B’s to A’s. :/

note: this is my only semester in my college career that I will not have a 3.0 or above!

Am I S.O.L. for Berkeley now? Do you think that there is any chance Berkeley will still take me if I have a 2.75?!?Have any of your current peers been in a situation like this?

@labaker keep studying and get 100% on your finals, you can do it. If you are truly Berkeley material you should be able to get it done! PS this thread is four years old.

@LAbaker - I think you can do it also! I doubt you have to get a 100% to get an A, but assuming you do, it is only one class. I have heard the most important thing is contacting them right away. Have you contacted Cal?
What is your GPA for the entire year? If the C was relieved in the first semester, would you have over a 3.0?
Maybe they will let you combine the two semesters?
Do you have back up schools with different conditions. Good Luck!
