Berkeley's "Conditions" of Acceptance help!

I got into Berkeley! YES! (Just today too!)

but... I am VERY VERY worried about their conditions...

I have complied with most of the transfer conditions which were:

1:You must notify your Admissions Officer immediately, by email, of any additions, drops or withdrawals from courses you plan to complete this academic year.

2:You must complete at least 60 UC-transferable semester (90 quarter) units by the end of the spring 2010 term. Immediately contact your Admissions Officer if you will not be able to meet this condition.

3:You must complete all UC-transferable courses in the Winter and/or Spring 2010 terms with a 3.0 or higher GPA and no grade lower than a C. Immediately contact your Admissions Officer if you will not be able to meet this condition
.
4:You may not attend summer session 2010 for the purposes of completing a minimum of 60 UC-transferable semester units, IGETC, or UC Reciprocity requirements. However, if you choose to attend summer for any other purpose (major requirements, courses of interest, etc) you must notify your UC Berkeley Admissions Officer by email and your final, official transcript must be received in our office by September 4, 2010.

5:If you are currently enrolled at or previously attended another UC campus, you must be in good academic standing; you must not currently be on academic probation or subject to dismissal.

Which is all fine by me, but in more conditions it states what classes I need to complete (a sum of 8) classes in order to satisfy it. All of which were the classes I put down as I was "planning" to take earlier when I updated my grades in January.

However, I have completed 6 since but the last 2 WERE NOT available to me anymore. One class (being PHIL 8:Ethics) was not available this quarter so I had to take another class (PHIL 7: Logic) to fill its place (both of the classes were NOT pre-reqs listed/need for my phil major as dictated by Berkeley). The SECOND class (PHIL 20) I was NOT able to get into because of a huge demand for the class, leaving me waitlisted and inevitably not in the class..

However (again), Not taking the 2nd class still leaves me enough units to transfer. But this misfortune was out of my hands when this quarter just started...

What will Berkeley do?
Is there anything I CAN do?
Will they revoke my acceptance?
....WHAT NOW??? NOOOO

please help. and thanks :)

i am in sort of a similar position with my classes i was accepted and i was supposed to be taking 15 units but i dropped one that would have certified me for the igetc now i will be at 57 units, the reason i dropped is because i had to help my mom with her day care for a few weeks the person she had helping her quit so she had no one else but me to help so that resulted in me missing class so i had to drop it what i am going to do is call the person who is my admission officer and try to explain to them the situation and hopefully i will be able to work somethin out i suggest you do the same they are the ones that can help you figure something out regarding the status of your acceptance if anything i am going to do everything in my power to make sure that i dont get revoked

What you guys/girls should be doing is explaining to admissions. They are the only ones who can tell you YES/NO and whether or not you’ll be revoked. Tell your story and let them know that you’ll do your best to fix whatever the problem is.

ya i think that is going to be the best thing if i am given the chance to explain fully what happened i really hope that they understand

I let my admissions officer know immediately about the substitutions. I just wanted to see if anyone had experience through such things. :frowning: :(

Jorge, Berkeley is really strict within the first “5” rules. If you do not have 60 units by transfer, in most likeliness you aren’t getting through… Had about 2 friends suffer the same fate :(

ahhhhhh well i just got an email from my admission officer saying that i could write an appeal stating why i will not meet the requirements i explained my situation pretty thoroughly and i am hoping to hear some positive news
