Berkeley vs. Cal PolySLO ?

still don't know what program to choose from,,
any suggestions?
Adds:
in Cal Poly SLO. 5 year (proffessional degree) getting a B.Arch
or
UCBerkeley.. 6 yr program with aM.Arch!??

thx!

hmmm I don't know- Berkeley is a good school--- but it doesn't have that B.arch option. You would have to do well and apply for an M.arch I program. Are you from California?- do you plan to stay there? Cal poly slo should be a good program and it certainly gets a lot of "hype", however even though I am from California I never really considered it- It seemed a little too isolated and its program just never interested me. I think that there might be some studio space downsides and a while ago-- (I don't know now)--- but years ago they were a much more "practical" school- vs. theoretical. I think they also produce a few more purely residential architects, but I could be wrong. - Do some research- You have two very good choices and both are highly regarded. -- remember-time is running out, so chose quickly!

thanks yeah.. i have done some research and i love them both ..yess i'm from CA .. so is it really hard to make it to the M.ARch programof Berkeley?

well its just like going to grad school
need very good gpa n stuff from undergrad

I always recommend not going to the same school for both undergrad and grad. Most people do better work when they've gotten out of their comfort zone a bit, are experiencing something new and exciting. Going to the same school for six years? Exactly the opposite of new and exciting...

But yes, Berkeley has an EXTREMELY selective graduate program. And it is NOT about "good grades n stuff". It's about your portfolio primarily, then your statement of purpose & letters of recommendation, your work experience, and thennnnnnn your grades and GRE scores (usually one strong will make up for the other being weak).
