I was accepted into these schools for computer science but I’m having a difficult time choosing amongst them. I know Cal has the best name and program out of the other two but what draws me away from the school are the difficulty and competition in the CS classes. Also, I was told to reconsider this school because the 3.3 GPA requirement is very difficult and I need to be at least above average in math for classes like CS70 (I only have a 660 SAT math, which is below average for CS Cal students). I’m passionate about CS so I don’t want to consider a different major if I happen to fail to meet the requirement.
I’m considering UCSD because I heard it’s not as difficult as Cal and the people there are more chill and supportive. It’s not as great as Berkeley but many companies will still hire UCSD graduates.
Im also thinking about Irvine since I live in Irvine so the school will be a lot cheaper. However, I’m not sure how tech companies look at this school. I believe I fit in with the school and its students the best and it is probably the least rigorous in terms of classes between the other two schools.
This is a very difficult decision for me so any advices would be tremendously appreciated. Thanks!
