Berkeley waitlist

@cbj950613‌ Hey I get it, but you’ve got to keep your head up. Berkeley isn’t the end of you. You probably have tons of potential that can be applied elsewhere. This is how I felt when I got rejected from Hopkins. Trust me. You will feel better with time. Also where you go doesn’t matter as much as hard you work at the place you’re at. It’s not worth it to keep dwelling on something you can’t change. Don’t lose hope. Also undergrad isn’t as big of a deal as grad. If you really want it that badly then you can work super hard and always try again. Or transfer. At the end of the day, you’re not done. You’re only beginning. Focus on the present and learn from the past.

@bkybub‌ Well said, the individual is more important than the university. @cbj950613‌ Hang in there, and regardless of which university you attend, work your hardest and you will succeed!

Extremely quiet today, no one got pulled off the waitlist? Also has anyone been accepted from waitlist for biological sciences in L&S? If so please post stats

Don’t think so…Still waiting on Letters and Science CS. I think our best hope is waiting until the SIR deadlines for the first couple of waves.

just wondering, has anybody been accepted from the waitlist for interdisciplinary studies in L&S? If so, when did you get accpeted?

so, when IS the deadline for first wave or two?

Should be 5/14, 5/15, and 5/16…at 11:59 P.M. PST respectively.

Today’s approximately the deadline for the initial waitlist SIR’s. Looks like there’s either going to be another wave in the next three-four days… or it’s over. Gg everyone.

Spoke to an admissions officer today. He mentioned the 2nd wave of notices will be sent out sometime next week. He did not have any info about department specific availability.

@bonywasawarrior‌ A little scared to still believe there is still hope :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for sharing!

What is the most visited website in my browser since May 1? YESSS you’re right! https://students.berkeley.edu/myberkeley/myberkeleyapp.asp</a>

@NaifXD‌ At least Berkeley still draws from its waitlist, unlike so many other sought-after colleges.

Well, I am scared after seeing this post on official Facebook group… apparently they are letting the spring admits to choose to start in fall.

I got an email from Berkeley stating:
“UC Berkeley’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions has some exciting news about your admission.
A number of slots became available for the fall 2014 term, and you have the opportunity to choose between a fall term entry or your original spring term entry.”
I’m having a hard time deciding between fall and spring. Could you guys help me out with some pros and cons?

The deadline for the spring admits to fall session is May 19 according to another Facebook post. Looks like we are being put behind them, so if any results come out, it might be after their deadline or at the same time.

I would go for the fall. D2’s friend was a spring admit and had to arrange for housing. It was a bit of a hassle, her mom had to drive up from Southern Cal.
Interesting that UCB has waitlist and Spring admit. I’m not sure they have both. Any insight as to why?

It doesn’t make any sense… Why would they put spring admits in fall instead of using its waitlist? So frustrating…

This is all really stressful and I hate the lack of communication

I was accepted off the waitlist on May 9
