....Full price? Eff that lol. Anyone else get any kind of decent aid?

Nope. I'm going in full, just like you.

yeah berkeley financial aid is unbelievably bad. it gave me the single worst offer by FAR out of all my colleges...but maybe it is better for in-state students

I'm in-state, and I got nothing beyond loans.

My parents are expected to pay 22,000... and the rest are loans? ***? Pretty lame (this is from all UCs, though.)

How much do I, as a low-income student, approximately need to pay? (I don't have any scholarship from UCB yet.)

I actually got $46,008.00 in aid, which is weird, unless i
m reading it wrong :/ Most of is loans, though .. except $4,000 which is supposed to be from work study? I feel like I
m not understanding any of this ..

Oh, and I`m OOS.

crazyyyy i got EXACTLY what you got. 46,008. wow
did you get a "Berkeley UG Scholarship" for like 11k each year?? what kind of scholarship is it?
im confused about all the fin aid stuff too....

im confused too...

hey twistandshout i got EXACTLY the same thing as you.

My son is a sophomore at UCB and is receiving great financial aid. We are in-state. They met our EFC with a package that was approximately $5K in loans, $4K in work study and everything else was scholarships/grants.

Son #2 was just accepted with Regents and they met our EFC with a package that was 100% scholarships/grants.

geez im sorry it posted my comment like 4 times....the server was acting weird

sorry about that

how come i don't have anything in my financial aid?

i got over $18,000 yay!

Berkeley was generous enough to provide our family with just under $250 in grants a year. Even for an out of state applicant, this is pretty pitiful. University of Michigan gives good aid to students, and our economy is the worst in the nation. Why is Berkeley so cheap? California's fairly wealthy overall.

I'm intl, no aid, crap.

^^ I second that

Berkeley doesn't need to give financial aid because if you don't go, there's 3 other people willing to pay full price.

to those who got 46,000 and are out of state...thats what you pay as an out of stater. OOS tuition is equivalent to that of a private school.
