My daughter has played the lever harp for 10 years but does not want to major in music, rather she wants to pursue sound design. Berklee’s appears to require an audition regardless of intended major (from what I can see, you don’t declare until later) - can anyone tell me about the audition process (what is required, how proficient would she be expected to be given her career aspirations). Thank you.
What does she mean by sound design? Is this the program she wants? https://www.berklee.edu/electronic-production-design? It’s a combo of performance, composition and studio production/technology. Has she been working in this area already?
This IS majoring in music, right?
The terminology for this kind of thing varies from school to school. : There are programs at many schools. Is Berklee the only one she is looking at?
The more we look into the program, we don’t think it will be the right fit. Her goal is to work in film and animation with sound design/effects. Thanks for the response.
Wrong program, yes.
