Besides Direct Hits, should I use another vocab book?

Direct Hits doesn't cover all Vocab from what I've seen (but is still amazing)
Is there any other vocab list that covers what direct hits doesn't cover?

Make sure you really know the words in DH. The threads from the Oct. & Nov. SATs said they were really a huge help. The next thing would be to look up any word you don’t know in the College Board blue book. If you have time to add another vocab book, one of the biggest is Barrons 3500. That will give you plenty of words.

No, you should be fine. But if you have a lot of time on your hands and enjoy memorizing words, Barron’s giant list of 3500 words will cover pretty much everything.

I think the Oxford dictionary covers all the words not covered by Direct Hits…

Seriously though, Direct Hits is the most effective vocab book by a fairly wide margin. You’d be wasting time reading most other vocab books because they’re not as effective as DH. In my opinion, after reading through DH, you shouldn’t spend time working on vocab, and you should instead focus time on other sections of the SAT.

I am an international student and I memorized two things: Direct Hits and Rocket Review. Well, basically, it should be about 700 words, but because I am non-native, for me there were about 1000 words. So, I think I did my best.
Current CR score: 450-550

hmmmm okay, I’ll think I’ll try barrons :X

Do not try barrons. 3500 words is A LOT. Trust me its taken 1 month for 450 of Direct hits and direct hits makes it easy to understand, barrons doesnt.

If you have memorized all the words in the 2011 DH books try testing your vocab skills at [Homepage | Freerice.com](http://www.freerice.com). A lot of SAT words show up there and it will help you see if you know the definition quickly. It is also helps a good cause.
