Hi, I am new to this board and this is my first post. I am still in high school (junior) at Lawrenceville in NJ. Does anybody know which school I'm talking about? Anyways, the reason I'm posting this thread is that I wanted to know which universities offer the best undergraduate business program, but also has a good partying atmosphere on campus?

Also, I play various vasity sports and I'm probably going to play one of these sports in college (probably lacrosse). I'm also looking for good weather, because I'm tired of the cold we get here.

Any tips would be great.

Probably some of the top public schools: UNC, UVA, Michigan, UCLA. Maybe Notre Dame. Most other schools in the top 25 fall flat socially (compared to their academics).

i think i would include USC on that list

sounds like you fit the Duke stereotype fairly well

for business programs and great social life i would say arizona state, san diego state, and usc. those are the only one i know of.

ucsb has an economics program.

Well, I always was interested in UVA and UNC, but Duke does seem like a great match. Does it have a good social life even though it is one of the best private colleges in the nation? Also, would you recommend fraternities or just normal dorm life?

Vanderbilt......smoking hot girls and great parties. Its the only USNews Top 20 school that ranks among Playboy's top 25 party scenes. SEC Tailgates are sweet, solid basketball team, ranked #1 for baseball.

If you are interested in i-banking, most kids major in econ and minor in managerial studies.

Among nerd schools, check out UPenn. Great job placement, great parties.

Well, being a varsity player in lax and other sports, I'm guessing that in college, girls will be important:P ... what is better for girls : jock and good lax player (or hockey), or frat guy ??

But on a more serious note, I already had a look at UPenn and it doesn't seem to fit me at all. I didnt feel a good vibe on campus, same thing for yale and harvard. I think I'm more of a top public school guy or maybe duke rather than ivy league. I guess I'm tired of the intellectual people I hang out with in prep school. L'Ville equals not a jock school, so maybe it wasn't the perfect fit for me. At least, I will get to go at any college I want to, or almost.

...wha...nevermind. Another one of these stupid threads. It's ****ing college, not Cambodia.

And for the record, go frat. Seems like you will be a perfect fit...

If you are interested in an active social life with frat parties, etc. I would definitely go Greek. Many Greeks seem very satisfied with the social life here, but to non-Greeks and others not so into frat parties as the center of campus life, the social life isn't so great.

"I guess I'm tired of the intellectual people I hang out with in prep school."

Also at Duke the intellectual students aren't really at the center of campus life, so that might be good for you. Duke students do tend to be preppy (dress, lifestyle, etc.)

UCSB and it isn't even close

university of texas

not sure if they have lacrosse though

Definitely USC (University of Southern California)

agree with the person that said UCSB

I would say, UCSD or UCSB. Both are nice schools and are rather close to the beach. UCSD is a little better as a school, and UCSB is a little closer to the beach.

I never heard any social scene in UCSD. are you sure?

LOL! The social scene at UCSD stinks. It's the complete opposite of a party school.

You might want to actually research a college (instead of looking at US News rankings) before you give such advice.

if you go to ucsd, you end up at sdsu for the parties.
