I'm retaking the ACT in February and I need to know which books are best for prep. I used Barron's last time and while I loved the English section, everything else was pretty unrealistic, especially the science section. Any recommendations?

when in doubt- pick Kaplan

No kaplan barrons is much better

Well since I already used Barron's and I didn't find it very accurate (even though I loved the grammar section), any other suggestions? Also, would anybody recommend ACT's online course?

Actually I thought PR's book was the best one.

yeah I got that one (PR), I think its pretty good too.

The real ACT book.

i used kaplan 2004. It seemed ok for me.

Which one seemed most similar to the test? And also, is everything in the Real ACT book covered in the online course?

Using a prep book that's similar to the test is great, but which book prepares you the best? Sometimes, there are books that overprep you and you'd end up with a great score.

Well, I used Barron's which was a lot harder for the test my first time and it really threw me off because when I had to change my strategy completely for Reading and Science. Plus, the science section in Barron's was completely different from the actual one on the test, especially the double passages. This time around, I'd rather practice with something that is more realistic.
