I have a question for the students, alumnae, and parents here:

What are the best and worst aspects of living and learning at Connecticut College?

best: diverse range of student archetypes living harmoniously (jocks, hipsters, preps, geeks, etc.), the beautiful campus, the strong sense of community created by the living situation (dorms mixed with equal #'s from each class. no frats), the small class sizes, and surprising and little known beauty of southeastern connecticut (harbor towns, beaches, restaurants, culture).

worst: lack of name recognition. most students (let’s say, 75%) are wonderful but the bottom quarter of every class are apathetic, boring, individuals who were mediocre high school students and were accepted through attending elite prep schools. These students have a disproportionately negative influence on the vibe of the college.

Thank you for your answer! The more I hear about this school, the more I like it. I visited it a few days ago because it was close and had all of the programs I wanted, not really expecting to add it to my list, but once I got there and attended the tour and info session, I loved it!
