Best AP English Language and Composition Prep Books

Does anyone have any recommendations for good AP English Language Prep books?

Cliffnotes and 5 Steps to a 5 were what really helped me prepare for the exam. The multiple choice section in each was great; they were a little bit harder than the actual exam, so I felt really well-prepared. Good luck!

@ashleybear97 thank you! do you have anymore tips?

Honestly, just know your literary devices (they ask about that a lot in multiple choice) and how to write each type of essay that is on the exam.
One is a synthesis essay where you just have to form an argument based on the question and use the documents they give you to back up your claim. The other is a literary analysis where you read a usually short piece of non-fiction and pick out the literary devices in it and how they relate to the overall meaning of the piece. Just things like simile, personification, allusions, tone, and stuff like that. And the last one is just a persuasive essay kind of like the synthesis one but you aren’t given any documents. I think the persuasive one was definitely the easiest. Here’s a link if you want some more information on that though: https://benchprep.com/blog/the-ap-english-language-exam-the-three-types-of-essay-questions/
And here’s a website for most of the literary devices you could see on the exam: http://teachers.sduhsd.net/ppennock/ap%20resource%20packet.pdf

Good luck! Reading a lot, practicing writing, and doing practice tests is more than enough to prepare you for the exam. It was a lot easier than I was expecting.

@ashleybear97 I know this is really late, but thanks for the tips and advice, it really helped and I got a 4 on the exam ! :)>- :stuck_out_tongue:
