I am going to be going to TCC while my girlfriend will be going to FSU hopefully fall 2014. What would be the best apartments in a mid-size budget that would hopefully have easy access to FSU and TCC? I plan on having roommates, so places that would match with other people would be great. I am not looking for a lot of amenities though they would be nice, but just somewhere nice and clean to live.

You’re just going to have to do that on your own. A good apartment can be subjective, as where I lived I thought it was decent considering it is Tallahassee, but others didn’t really agree and would have never put that on their list to live.
What exactly is a mid-size budget? Some may say no more than $500 while others may say $800 is decent. Somewhere nice and clean, that is something you will have to find out in person. Where I lived some rooms were cleaner than others, as they were still in the processes of renovating. So mine may have been cleaner than my neighbors, as some didn’t have the upgrades yet. Many apartments lately have new management and in transition to bringing up the complex to livable standards as competition for a place to live is rising. Since it is a college town pretty much every apartment complex here has a roommate matching system in place.
Honestly you’ll have to do some google’ing, try and search for apartments in your budget, look at reviews (but don’t rely on them), then make a trip and see them in person and talk to the people that live in the complex.

Completely agree with PT. Lots of choices to work through. Big places and small places to choose from.

If you’re looking off-campus, FSU housing actually has a site that is probably a good start.
