Need help for daughters first apartment

Hi my daughter and her boyfriend are moving to tallahassee for her freshman year at FSU. We have been looking for apartments and trying to find a good area. Has any one had any experience with Pointe East apartments at 709 Pointe Ct Tallahassee, FL 32308? They are 2/1 units for a really good price. Thanks for the help.

Or can you recommend any others in a nice area. They are paying for the apartment themselves so they were trying to keep it under $600.

I stayed with a friend at Seminole Suites, the apartment i was in was SUPER nice. It was 3/3 spacious living room and very cute kitchen. my friend told me she paid like, 500/mo.

We have no personal experience as D was in a dorm year one and will be in Sorority house for year two, but we did do some looking while waiting to see if she would be in or not in the house.

In general, the best prices are for a bedroom in a 4 bedroom unit. You can find per person rates at about $500 per person or less in a 4/4–or $2000 for all 4. As the number of bedrooms goes down, the rates go up. So per person in a 3/3 its more like $600-650 a month. For a 2/2 about $700-750. If there are more bedrooms than bathrooms, its less per person. But for a 2/1 it works out often still to $500-600 per person, so its $1000-1200 a month for the total unit. Now, as you get farther away from the campus, or as you get older units, the price comes down. Most of the student complexes rent per person by the room so students don’t have to be responsible for the entire amount, esp if someone moves out. The farther you get from the university, the more likely you will find rentals that rent by the unit instead of by the room.

Finding a 2/1 for $600 for the entire unit could be a stretch. Hopefully there will be folks chiming in here. Given she will be living with a guy, you may feel more comfortable with an older unit or one in a less desirable area to get a 2/1 for under $600 total a month.

pr, I had a difficult time convincing my parents to let me bring a television to college. I never thought to ask them about bringing my boyfriend.
