Need Suggestions Finding An Apartment (3br, 2ba)

Some friends and I are looking for an apartment near the campus or on the bus route since we won't be getting housing from FSU (this is a certainty).

We would like something on the bus route, and other than that, nothing much is required location-wise. I'm taking a car, which will make it easy to go shopping for groceries and such, so proximity to a grocery store would be great but not necessary.

There are four of us, looking for three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with utilities and Internet. We're low-income and hoping to not pay much more than $350 and preferably less. Furnished if possible, within the price.

I don't really care for it to be a social place like Southgate or anything, we just need a simple apartment with essential amenities. Any suggestions from parents, or current/former students?

I lived in a 3/2 at The Pavilion at University Village on Call St. two years ago. It was relatively quiet and fairly nice, especially with its proximity to campus. It’s furnished and includes internet and cable, though I saw online that they’ve since raised the rent to $450/month. This is definitely a student complex, but never too out of control.

Sort of the other extreme is a 3/2 at Spanish Oaks. It’s on High Rd south of Tharpe, and has a bus stop across the street. Winn Dixie is less than 5 minutes away, and not far from campus and Publix. This complex is unfurnished and doesn’t include utilties, cable, internet, etc, but rent is a total of $850/month. I loved living here - plenty of parking and very quiet. The office staff is outstanding as well. There is a good mix of undergrads, grad students, and professionals.

I’m not sure that either of these will be exactly what you’re looking for, but they are on opposite ends of the spectrum so you can find somewhere in between that fits.

Go for a house. Much better, and you’ll save some money. Craigslist will be helpful- just google map the locations for the proximity to campus.
