Hey. I wanted to make this thread to see what you all think would be the best BIG city to live in. I live in a medium sized town I think (about 200,000 people), but I have always seen myself going to college and living in a big city. Of these "Big Cities", which would you choose to live in and why?

New York City
Washington DC
Boston
Philadelphia
Pittsburgh
Chicago

I know these are all on the east coast for the most part, but that is basically the only place I would want to live! Thanks!

Boston is awsome, specially if your young. Average age is like 23.
DC is really cool too.
Lot of stuff to do in NY.
Not too framilar with the others but they are more trashy =(

I would choose Boston beacause it would be so much fun…although i love DC’s atmosphmere.

NYC, but I am biased since I live so close. Great if you love to shop, a nice mix of high-end and low-end clothing. Amazing food, you can try something for every culture. Broadway, because it’s amazing, I try to go to one show every year. Sweet music scene, if you’re into bands and stuff. Oh and not to mention great schools, whether it be college or high school.

Okay! I think I would probably not really want to live in Pittsburgh or Philly because they are kind of industrial/dirty seeming cities. Between DC and Boston, which would you guys prefer for shopping, dining, and events?

Chicago, Chicago that toddlin’ town
Chicago, Chicago I’ll show you around - I love it
Bet your bottom dollar you lose the blues in Chicago, Chicago
The town that Billy Sunday could not shut down

On State Street, that great street, I just want to say
They do things that they never do on Broadway – say
They have the time, the time of their life
I saw a man and he danced with his wife
In Chicago, Chicago, Chicago – that’s my home town

I kid. Actually, I love Boston! I’d say it’s cleaner than most cities, it has charm and character and personality and I love the architecture. And the people are pretty educated and friendly all around so yay for not as many incompetent people!

Boston, but I am biased as well. It’s great to just walk around, see all the fun things to do. There’s great theaters, libraries, and it’s not all the hustle and bustle of a big city, but it’s still a big city in general, plus the people are so great to be around and are very educated.

MONTREAL! lol great environment, lots of fun, great university (McGill), lots of cultural experiences, clean, organized…except for the trashy french quebecois people

from that list, Id choose Boston for sure, maybe NYC.

I personally like New York City the best too. Tons of tall buildings, Central Park, Broadway, 5th Avenue, Times Square, all the media companies and tv shows, and universities are aweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesome.

NYC - Great city to live in the suburbs. Overcrowded though especially in Manhattan. No privacy.
D.C. - Another city in which the burbs are the place to live. Too ghetto to live in the city.
Boston - Racist and cold. How about no.
Philly - Similar to D.C.
Pittsburgh - Do you have teeth?
Chicago - Never been.

From my experiences good cities to live in are San Diego, San Francisco, Miami, and Tampa.
In general East Coast cities aren’t places you want to live IN. But the suburbs are insane.
