Best book for AP Calculus AB?

Hi,

I wanted to get ahead and learn some calculus this summer before school started. Which book would best teach me calculus as if it were teaching something new? I heard barrons was terrible with it according to some reviews on amazon.

bump my post to the top!!

I have the Princeton Review Calc Book and I have looked over the first two chapters, which covered limits and continuity. The information was pretty clear and accessible.

But before you buy a book, maybe you should try NROC (National Repository of Online Courses). It’s my main resource for learning Calculus this summer!

[NROC Advanced Placement Calculus ABII](http://www.montereyinstitute.org/courses/AP%20Calculus%20AB%20I/nroc%20prototype%20files/coursestartc.html)

I see. Thanks for the link! I appreciate it :)

I have been using Princeton as well to self study, and the problem I have is that it doesn’t separate the AB and BC topics very well.

I would recommend this one [Amazon.com: Calculus (9780716769118): Jon Rogawski: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Calculus-Jon-Rogawski/dp/0716769115)

The first half covers every topic in BC (and of course AB) and the second half goes beyond that, in case you wanna learn even more some time from now.

Nope, the PR book doesn’t delineate AB and BC topics, if at all.

The first chapter, which was on limits, said there was a more advanced way to find limits that only BC students had to know. The method was supposed to be covered at the end of the chapter, according to the book. Never found it :o.

I used Barron’s, which is the book my school bought for everyone this year for Calc AB, and I just got my score yesterday- 5! Barron’s questions are harder than the actual exam and they explain things better than my textbook did, and the real exam is easy after this.

EDIT: ignore this post…sorry. Last one is what i meant^

Barron’s is the book we had to use for AB and BC in my school! It is very good!
